Since the beginning of revenue service on the world's first high speed railway in 1964, Japan has been receiving an overwhelming number of requests for technical advice from countries interested in high speed rail. Japan Railway Technical Service (JARTS) was established in 1965 to provide advisories for High Speed railway, and its technical expertise has been inherited by JIC. JIC has strengthened this technical expertise with contributions from high speed rail operators, and has a wide variety of knowledge about construction, operation and maintenance related to high-speed rail, including civil engineering, track, rolling stock, electric power, signaling and telecommunication, and operation control systems. We have been providing consulting services for high-speed rail systems appropriate for each interested country, drawing on our rich experience and extensive knowledge.
