Period October 2019 to March 2020

Project Overview

The success of India's first high-speed railway project using the Japanese Shinkansen system will be dependent upon the preparation of basic rules and manuals as the basis of safe and stable transportation.

The JIC staff members joining this project are familiar with the rules, manuals, operation and maintenance related to high-speed railways, have sufficient experience in each area of rail business. The basic manual was created in coordination with the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL), based on regulations and manuals applying to the Japanese Shinkansen.

The manual has been given to NHSRCL via JICA, and will be used to educate local staff, who should use it as a reference in creating more detailed manuals in the future.

JIC will make use of the experience acquired through this project and continue with contributions to the education and creation of manuals for future railway projects.
