Project Overview

The Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) North-South Line was constructed to alleviate the chronic traffic congestion in the Jakarta metropolitan area through a yen loan by the Japanese government to the Indonesian government; opening for business in March 2019 as the first in a series of integrated exports of Japanese railroad systems promoted by the public and private sectors. As consultants, we supervised construction in the fields of railway systems and rolling stock, supported preparations for its opening, and have continued to provide support for operation and maintenance of the railway since opening, according to Japan's world-class rail service.

This project is the second in a series of subsequent consulting projects for improving the operation and maintenance of the railway. Consulting service is being carried out in a joint venture with Nippon Koei Co., Ltd., to provide operation and maintenance management expertise for the railway to operate independently, including guidance toward activity for improvements as well as implementation of rolling stock heavy maintenance.
